The Human Flaw

I feel like there is something intrinsically wrong with how we deal with life as human beings. This of course does not apply to all people, but for the most part, I feel like the human race has given up. It seems that we have given in to the temporary solutions in life like power, money, drugs, and even sex as sedatives. I feel that we largely put our efforts into forgetting our problems and distracting ourselves, rather than solving them, pushing ourselves forward as individuals and as a collective. We give in. We tell ourselves that this just isn’t the time or place, but I wonder, if not now, and if not here, then when? Do we have to wait for permission to evolve? Have we given up our natural, scientific right as living organisms to growl, develop, and flourish?

And when I feel this way, I have to remind myself that fundamentally, all we want is to be loved, accepted, happy, and after it’s all said and done, remembered. And often times, we are tempted by those temporary solutions to emulate those feelings of significance. When really, the solution is much simpler, but seemingly much more difficult.
